I am glad you are recommending disability insurance! I am dealing disability insurance in Toronto and I really believe it should play more important role in our lives. Just let me tell you one example. Imagine you are surgeon with grown up children - life insurance has almost no meaning for you, if your partner has a good career. But imagine what some minor injury (for example disabled fingers or wrist) can do with your career! That's the right moment for disability insurance to save you...

Unlike life insurance, protecting one's income with disability insurance is a good idea for anyone who has to support themself. Even without a family, an injured worker can reap the benefits of being insured. Of course staying healthy enough to work is the ideal situation, but paying premiums for "just-in-case" is what an insurance policy is all about anyway.

Nice post. I agree with your point and do feels the same about this insurance policy type. No one can ascertain what will happen in future, so it is always better to make some arrangements in advance to overcome all the worst things.
